BattletechMUX Documentation Wiki Help

• What's this all 'wiki' thing about?

Wiki webs are an openly modifiable form of webpage. In our case, the users of BattletechMUXs all help to maintain the documentation contained within this site. Anyone who is registered may change or update almost any page in almost any way.

• What keeps people from doing stupid things?

Nothing really. The only consolation we can offer is that there are enough people on here so that if anything were to happen, the offending page would either be corrected or reverted to an earlier version. Along with that, if we are able to pinpoint an offender down to a specific player, their name will be spread to other BTMux admins who may or may not choose to ban them from their sites.

It's largely an honor system and we've had very little trouble in the past. The benefits outweigh the risks in our case.

• How can I help?

Register an account by clicking on the link in the upper right corner and add to what we already have here. Hop on the forums and assist people, or stop by the mailing list.

• Where can I learn to edit Wiki pages?

It's easiest to learn by example. Hit the Edit links at the top of pages and see how things are done. You may also find documentation on the Wikimedia Meta-Wiki.
