What is Fueling?
Fueling is very important during fights, bases need a constant supply of fuel to keep operating. Every unit spawning from a base uses up its fuel reserves, until there's no more fuel left and no more units can spawn from that base. A crippled base obviously won't last long under fire.
Fuel Units
There are a number of different vehicles and mechs available, which can transport fuel. Everyone can spawn the standard fuel_truck (Even if it doesn't show up on your unit list). You can do this by typing
setmech Fuel_Truck and spawning as normal.
Other fuel units you have to buy or rent to be able to use them are:
- Mechs
- FuelMech
- FuelQuadMech
- Vehicles
- Wheeled:
- Fuel_Truck-C
- Fuel_Truck-JJ
- Hover:
- H_FuelTruck-AP
- H_FuelTruck-APC
- HoverFuelTruck
- Tracked:
- T_FuelTruck-EM
- T_FuelTruck-UW
- TrackFuelTruck
- Wheeled:
Process of fueling
Pick the fuel unit of your choice and spawn somewhere on the map. After that use the
fuellist command to look for the nearest fuel depot. Drive to its hex and stop there completely. Next, use the
fuel/load to fill your unit's reserves to capacity.
The next step is to proceed to the base in need of fuel, stop on the base hex, then use the
fuel/unload command to refuel the base from your reserves. You will receive a reward of XP and C-Bills based on the amount of fuel units you unloaded into the base. If the base only needed a fraction of your fuel reserves, you will receive a portion of the payout and retain the leftover fuel in your reserves. You may then use that fuel on another base or go back for more.
Fueling is Important!
Your factionmates will be forever grateful if you at least periodically step up and take on a fuel route. It is often exciting and challenging, as fuelers may be ambushed or chased part or all of the way. While it certaintly isn't the best way to get some kills, fueling is a great service to your faction and can turn the tide of battles.
Generators
Bases may also be fueled by Generators. See the page for details.
