Battletech: The Frontier Lands

In order to retain their position, every wizard (high ranking member of the staff) must complete some kind of noticable contribution to the game every month. These contributions are done in the form of some kind of project that will leave a lasting mark on Frontier and/or BattletechMUX in general. Good examples of projects are:

  • New Wiki Documentation
  • Improvements to Existing Game Systems
  • New Game Elements
  • Effective Advertising (Lots of Referrals or New Players)

Taking on Projects

To take on a project for yourself, check the Staff forum on the website for the To-Do List thread. This stays stickied at the top. Find one that you like and reply to the appropriate thread that you'd like to take on the particular project.

Status Updates

Staff members need to keep everyone informed of the work they're doing by replying to their project's thread periodically with news and updates on progress. Please do this so we know how you are coming along.

Limited Immunity

New wizards are immune from the project requirement for their first month to allow time for them to get accustomed to how things operate. However, it is always advisable to try to stay busy when you have the time even if you're not required to.

Tenure Status

Longstanding contributors to the game may achieve tenured status. This means that they no longer have to complete a monthly project. This status is gained over the period of many months to years and is only for those that show a very strong sense of devotion and ability. Some kinds of staffers may also receive an Honorary Tenure that means their contributions to the BT community entitle them to more or less instant protection.

Again, monthly projects are required for all non-tenured wizards. If you can't do one thing a month then there's no room in the Frontier wizcore for you!
