There are a few options as far as Windows and Subversion clients go, but we strongly recommend TortoiseSVN (Download). This more or less allows you to work with a Subversion repository via the Windows Explorer.

Note: It really is best to do programming on a Linux/Unix environment since it is our intended platform for running on. For this reason, we would prefer Windows developers to handle maps, templates, and the text directory.
Warning: When doing modifications to files in the repository using Windows, make sure you save your changes in something other than a DOS/Windows format to prevent the annoying ^M line-break stuff from happening and generally messing things up.

A good text editor for working with our repository is jEdit, which works on any platform that has Java and has a few really nice features for our purposes. Make sure you don't save in DOS/Windows format, Windows line-breaks do nasty things to files in a *nux environment.
